“Rock and Roll Cable Ship” is a personal account of the military maritime experience of Bob Quinn, a teen soldier who enlisted in the United States Army in 1954. This book chronicles Quinn’s time aboard the US Army Cable Ship LTC. Ellery W. Niles in the 1950s. It notes the influence of rock and roll music on the culture and its direct relation to the ship’s crew.
“This book is written to recognize the skill and dedication of the operators and crews of the United States Army ships; especially the crew of ‘the Rock and Roll Cable Ship,’” says Quinn. “It pays respect to both our country’s soldiers and culture by embracing the music of the era with my personal accounts at sea.”
